Find your direction, quietly.
A real great-circle bearing to the Kaaba, corrected for local magnetic declination and matched against your phone's compass, so the needle settles on the direction you already know.

Every number on this page comes from the same functions the app runs. Change the city in the dial and watch the bearing, the distance and the magnetic offset move together.

Four quiet steps between you and the direction.
Your position
The compass reads a city you choose or your current GPS fix. Nothing is requested until you allow it.
The great-circle bearing
The initial bearing to the Kaaba is computed from your coordinates with the great-circle formula, not by reading a compass rose.
Magnetic correction
Phone compasses read magnetic north. The local declination from the NOAA World Magnetic Model is added, so the needle points at true north.
Alignment
The app compares the corrected heading with the bearing. Within four degrees, it tells you that you are facing the Kaaba.
The shortest path on a sphere between two points is an arc, and the angle where that arc leaves your meridian is the bearing to the Kaaba.

What the dial gives you.
Live sensor guidance
The dial follows the device as you turn, with a smoothed heading that does not jitter.
Distance to Makkah
The remaining distance to the Kaaba, in kilometres, from the same coordinates.
Magnetic offset
The local declination, shown with its sign, so a reading can be checked by hand.
Manual dial
Without a sensor, the astronomical dial lets you set the angle yourself and follow the direction by eye.
Calibration guidance
A short figure-eight motion helps the sensor settle before you rely on the reading.
City or GPS
Pick a city from the list or let the app read your position, and change it whenever you travel.
فَأَيْنَمَا تَكُونُوا تُدْرِكُوا الْقِبْلَةَWherever you are, turn towards the Qibla. The direction is a constant; the compass is only the instrument that carries it.

- The direction the device is facing, needle
- The deviation between the two, gold arc
The real screens.
Permission, calibration and the live compass, captured from the current release of MyNefs.

The Qibla screen
The compass, the astronomical dial and the readouts, composed as one instrument.

The live dial
Bearing, deviation and distance to Makkah in one composed view.

Permission and calibration
The compass explains what it needs before it asks for it.
Your coordinates never leave the phone.
The Qibla bearing is computed on the device from the position the app already holds for prayer times. Nothing about your location is sent to MyNefs to work out a direction.
- Bearing, distance and declination are calculated locally.
- Location is only requested when you allow it.
- No account is needed to use the compass.
- The selected city stays on the device.
Carry a calm compass with you.
MyNefs brings prayer times, the Qur'an, dhikr and the Qibla into one quiet place. Core worship tools stay free.
